Daniel and Paula came to Upfront Remodeling with an underutilized garage and a vision: transform it into a fully self-contained ADU that could serve as a living space, rental unit, or creative studio. The Valley Village property had the footprint — it just needed the right team to unlock its potential. Upfront Remodeling handled the full conversion from the ground up, turning what was a standard detached garage into a polished, permit-ready accessory dwelling unit.
The interior build-out included a full open-concept kitchen and living area, complete with navy shaker cabinetry, white upper cabinets, quartz countertops, a bold navy island with seating, dark subway tile backsplash, stainless appliances, and brushed gold hardware throughout. Wide-plank blonde hardwood flooring runs the full length of the unit, giving the space an airy, modern feel. A dedicated bathroom was built out with dramatic black herringbone tile in the shower and a navy vanity — tying the design language together seamlessly.
The exterior received a full refresh as well: fresh white stucco, new windows, a sliding glass door, and a crisp vinyl privacy fence enclosing the private yard. The surrounding landscaping — artificial turf, flagstone steppers, and a poolside backdrop — rounds out the finished project.
In their testimonial, Daniel and Paula speak to the quality of the work and the smoothness of the process. This Valley Village ADU is a showcase of what a high-end garage conversion can look like when design and craftsmanship are taken seriously.
